Chris Dembiec is the head men’s soccer coach at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, a position he has held since the start of the 2005-06 school year. His other duties at SMU have also included teaching activity and coaching courses, as well as CPR and First Aid certification. Dembiec also added the Saint Mary’s University women’s soccer program to his plate for one season in 2007, compiling a 10-7-1 record.
Currently, Dembiec is also the director of coaching and player development for the CRUSA Soccer Club in La Crosse, Wis. He is the owner/director of Foundations Soccer Academy which hosts year round soccer day camps in Southeastern Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. The summer of 2010 will bring the first residential soccer day camp at Saint Mary’s University.
Prior to his arrival at SMU, Dembiec spent 10 seasons as the head boys and girls soccer coach at The Prairie School in Racine, Wis., where he compiled a combined record of 298-121-24. Dembiec guided his boys' team to back-to-back state titles in 2004 and 2005 and his teams have finished second in the state championships four times (twice with the boys and twice with the girls). A two-time Wisconsin State Coach of the Year, Dembiec earned NSCAA Midwest Region Coach of the Year honors in 2004.
Dembiec completed his undergraduate degree in Sociology from Marquette University in 1996, and will complete his master’s degree in Education/Instruction in Social Studies from Saint Mary’s University in 2010. Dembiec is a member of the NSCAA and holds an NSCAA Premier Diploma, International KNVB certificate, as well as a USSF national license.
Dembiec is recently married to his wife Courtney (formerly Murphy), who practices dentistry in Winona. They enjoy all the outdoor activities that Winona has to offer, and are proud to call Winona their home.
