Saint Mary’s Cardinal Notes:
With Friday’s 5-4 loss to Augsburg, the Cardinals have now lost their last three Friday night games. … Friday’s loss also marked the third straight setback for the Cardinals, who have not lost three in a row since opening the season with three straight setbacks. … Cassie Stoner (Kenosha, Wis.) scored the Cardinals’ lone goal vs. Augsburg Friday. It was her first of the season and fourth of her career. … Stevie Fiek (Rochester, Minn.) collected her team-leading 10th assist of the season on Stoner’s goal. … Fiek’s 10 assists are the most by a Cardinal since Laura Mueller led the team with 13 during the 2006-07 season. … Nicole Olson (New Brighton, Minn.) leads the team with 10 goals and is also the team-leader in points with 15. … Like Fiek, Olson’s 10 goals are the most since the 2006-07 season, when Melissa Mondo led the team with 15. … SMU boasts three players with 10 or more points — Olson (15), Fiek (14) and Cachey (11). … Kaye Collier (Hibbing, Minn.), who has stopped 36 or more shots three times in her collegiate career — including a career-best 39 saves vs. Lake Forest on Nov. 1 — enters today’s game with a team-leading 1.90 goals-against-average and a .929 save percentage. … With their 2-1 and 4-3 losses to St. Thomas last weekend, the Cardinals have now played 11 one-goal games this season — including three in their last five contests. SMU is 3-7-1 in those 11 games. … SMU’s six goals vs. Marian on Jan. 9 equaled its season high and are the most in a game since the Cardinals beat Hamline 8-0 on Feb. 25, 2004. … The Cardinals have outscored their opponents 16-9 in the first period and 15-11 in the second, but have been outscored 17-10 in the game’s final 20 minutes. … The Cardinals have scored first in 12 of their 18 games, going 8-3-1 in those 11 games.
