EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University women's golf team kicks off its season Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 4-5, as the Cardinals take part in the 21-team UW-Eau Claire Doug Georgianni Memorial Invitational at Wild Ridge Golf Course.

Gia Puch (Des Plaines, Ill.) returns as the Cardinals' top golfer, after averaging 90.8 in 10 rounds a year ago. Puch put together the best round of the season — and the best of her career — with an opening-round seven-over-par 79 at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Puch also had an 82 during the first round of last year's Doug Georgianni Invite. … Also back for the Cardinals is
