Complete AVCA Top 25 Poll
WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University volleyball team, fresh off an impressive 4-0 run through the SMU Sugar Loaf Classic, maintained its position at No. 24 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll, it was announced Tuesday.
The Cardinals, who were ranked No. 24 in the AVCA Preseason Poll, rolled to 3-0 wins over St. Scholastica, Luther and UW-Stout to open Sugar Loaf Classic play last weekend, before closing out its perfect run through the Sugar Loaf Classic with a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Loras.
The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference continued to state its case as one of the toughest conferences in Division III, boasting three teams — Saint Mary's, St. Thomas (No. 15) and St. Olaf (No. 18) — in this week's Top 25, while Concordia and Saint Benedict were among those receiving votes.
Washington University-St. Louis, coming off its 10th national championship, remained a unanimous No. 1 selection, while Juniata, Emory, Hope and Colorado College round out the top five.
