Highlights:

Received 11 letters: Four in basketball and football, and three in baseball. …The Minnesota Statehood Centennial Commission honored him as a "Minnesota Sports Champion" in 1958.

Football: Coach Tom Skemp said he was the best football player he ever coached — a man who in three years of football never made a mistake, who was never knocked off his feet, who never missed a pass, and who was never boxed while playing left end. … Member of the Coaches’ All-Minnesota College Conference team. … Named All-State end in 1928 and 1929. … Played on the 1929 football team which took the first state conference title for Saint Mary’s.

Basketball: Captain of the 1929 team. … Was a member of the undefeated basketball squad of 1927.

Baseball: Second-leading hitter in the state conference in 1927. … After leaving Saint Mary’s College coached the only Winona Legion baseball team ever to win the state tournament and go on to regional play.
