Lentz enjoyed a stellar collegiate career, helping guide the Cardinal women's soccer team to three consecutive Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships—not to mention four straight appearances in the NCAA Division III National Tournament. With Lentz leading the way, the Cardinals compiled a four-year conference record of 35-2-0.
A First-team All-MIAC selection both her junior and senior years, Lentz was named First-Team All-Midwest Region in 1989 and 1990, while garnering Second-Team All-American honors in 1989 and First-Team All-American honors in 1990.
A shut-down defender, Lentz—who collected her first collegiate goal as a freshman and added a pair of assists in 1990—was instrumental in the Cardinals collecting 38 shut-out victories in her four-year career.
