Highlights:

A four-year letterwinner in hockey, Skrypek was a two-time all-conference selection and helped guide the team to three straight second-place conference finishes. … The team’s leading scorer as a junior with 18 goals and 27 assists, Skrypek was among the team’s scoring leaders in each of his four years. … Since graduating from Saint Mary’s, Skrypek has spent the last 32 years coaching at the high school and collegiate levels — and has never had a losing season. … In his 17 years as the head hockey coach at Hill-Murray H.S., Skrypek recorded a 325-42-2 record (.883 winning percentage) and led his team to 12 state high school hockey tournament appearances. His teams were state runners-up on three occasions and won the 1983 state title. … In 1987, Skrypek left his position at Hill-Murray to become th head hockey coach at the University of St. Thomas, where his has spent thelast 15 seasons. In his first 14 seasons at UST, Skrypek established himself as one of the top collegiate coaches in the country, accumulating a 233-107-21 record. In 2001-2002, the Tommies was the conference title — the 11th time in a 13-year span under Skrypek that UST won or shared the conference championship. UST has also qualified for the NCAA Division III national tournament seven times under Skrypek.
