Carmean added her second goal — and an assist — over the final two periods for her first two-goal and multiple-point contest.
• 4: The Saint Mary’s women’s hockey team scored a season-high four goals in last Saturday’s 4-0 win over Saint Benedict. Anne Carmean (Spring Lake Park, Minn.) scored twice and Sydney Green (East Bethel, Minn.) and Sarah O’Brien (Littleton, Colo.) accounted for the other two goals.
• 31: Ary Ziakas (Palatine, Ill.) stopped all 31 shots she faced in recording her second shutout of the season in the SMU women’s hockey team’s 4-0 win over Saint Benedict last Saturday.
• 44: Ary Ziakas (Palatine, Ill.) recorded a season-high 44 saves in the Saint Mary’s women’s hockey team’s 3-0 loss to St. Thomas last Sunday. Ziakas’ 44-save effort vs. St. Thomas was just 10 saves shy of her career-best 54 saves in the Cardinals’ 3-3 tie with No. 5 Hamline on Feb. 8, 2020. The 54 saves were 10 more than her previous career best — and the most by a Cardinal goalie since Ashley Corcoran stopped 56 Gustavus shots on Feb. 3, 2017.
