Burfeind averaged 32.0 ppg in the Cardinals' two games last week, as the SMU junior netted 26 points against Saint John's last Monday, then added a career-best 38 points against Concordia last Wednesday.
Wednesday's effort was the first 30-point performance of Burfeind’s career and was the most scored by a Cardinal since Will Wright tossed in 41 against MacMurray (Ill.) on Nov. 22, 2008. His 26-point, 12-rebound effort against Saint John's two days earlier, meanwhile, marked the first double-double of his career.
Burfeind has now scored in double figures in seven of the team’s eight games, including four games of 20 or more points.
