Burfeind recorded his second straight 20-plus point performance Saturday against defending national champion St. Thomas. Just three days after netting 28 points in a win over Carleton last Wednesday — a win that snapped SMU's 23-game losing streak vs. the Knights — Burfeind tossed in 25 points against St. Thomas on Saturday.

Burfeind’s 25-point effort vs. UST marked the eighth time this season the SMU junior has scored 20 or more points. Burfeind — who has led the team in scoring in 11 of their 15 games and owns the top five individual offensive outputs this season — has now scored in double figures in 15 of the Cardinals’ 16 games.
