Auseth enjoyed a career week for the SMU women's basketball team, averaging 20.0 ppg in helping the Cardinals to back-to-back wins over North Central (Ill.) and Concordia.
Auseth helped SMU close out the nonconference portion of their schedule on a high note, scoring a career-high 28 points in the Cardinals' 99-81 victory over North Central (Ill.) on Dec. 28. The sophomore went 12 of 18 from the field — including 2-for-3 from the 3-point line — and was 2-for-3 from the free throw line. Auseth’s 28-point effort was the highest single-season output since Jess Miller tossed in 29 points against Gustavus on Dec. 7, 2009.
In the Cardinals' 66-57 win over Concordia last Saturday — a win that snapped an 18-game losing streak against the Cobbers — Auseth was one of four SMU players in double figures, finishing with 12 points.
For the week, Auseth averaged 20.0 ppg, going 15-for-28 from the field — including 4 of 7 from 3-point land — and was 6 of 7 from the free throw line. She also added eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and four steals.
