Schommer picked up a pair of firsts, and shattered a 12-year-old fieldhouse record in leading the SMU women's track and field team at the Luther Open last Saturday in Decoarh, Iowa.

Schommer won the 55 with a time of 7.64, and followed that up with a record-setting performance in the 300 — where she won the event in a record-setting 43.52 — besting the old mark of 43.96 set by Luther’s Jaimie Rasmussen in 2002.
