Betzold compiled a 1.44 ERA and a 4-2 record in eight appearances last week for the Saint Mary's fastpitch softball team. She also matched her career-high with 10 strikeouts in Game 1s vs. Concordia and Macalester last weekend.

The freshman right-hander picked up her third straight shutout with her second consecutive two-hitter in Game 1 against Macalester Sunday, before having her streak of 26 scoreless innings snapped in the fourth inning of Game 2.

Betzold has now pitched 41 consecutive innings for the Cardinals — allowing just four runs. At the plate, Betzold hit .407, going 11-for-27, while driving in six runs and scoring three times.
