Gruse scored a pair of goals—one in each game—for the Cardinal men's hockey team in its two games against nationally ranked and three-time defending conference champion St. Thomas.

Gruse netted the game's first goal in last Saturday's 3-3 overtime tie, while adding the Cardinals' second goal in a 3-2 loss to the Tommies a day later.

Gruse has now scored goals in three straight games and shares the team lead for goals with teammate Jed McGlasson
