Ortiz averaged 14.0 ppg to lead the Saint Mary's men's basketball team in scoring in the Cardinals' two games last week.

The sophomore scored a career-high 21 points against North Park last Tuesday—knocking down 7 of 8 field goals, including a 3-for-3 effort from behind the 3-point line—before adding seven points, three rebounds and two assists against Concordia on Saturday.

Ortiz heads into this week's games against Crown, St. Olaf and Gustavus averaging a team-best 11.6 ppg, while also leading the team with 21 assists.
