Blattner has been MIAC opponents worst nightmare this season, and last week was no exception, as the freshman averaged a double-double in leading the Cardinal women's basketball team to back-to-back wins over Hamline and Macalester.
Blattner kicked off the week with a 12-point, 13-rebound effort in the Cardinals' 70-55 win over Hamline last Wednesday, then notched her second double-double of the week—and seventh of the season—with 26 points and 12 rebounds in Saint Mary's 81-56 win over Macalester three days later.
Blattner finished the week shooting 44 percent from the field (14-for-32) and was 8-for-10 from teh free throw line.
For the season, Blattner—whose 26-point showing against Macalester was one point shy of her collegiate best—leads the team in scoring with a 16.2 ppg average, while her 173 rebounds (10.3 rpg) not only lead the team, but also the entire MIAC.
