In his first eight-kilometer race of the season, Newsum finished third overall at the UW-River Falls Invitational last Friday, hellping the Cardinals to a fourth-place team finish.

Newsum, who finished second individually at the season-opening Saint Mary's Alumni Open on Sept. 3, clocked a time of 26:40.8 en route to his third-place finish.
