Schefchik recorded a pair of second-place finishes in the two longest freestyle events of the afternoon, leading the Cardinal women's swimming and diving team to a fourth-place team finish at Macalester's Roger Ahlman Invitational.
Shefchik touched the wall in 5:40.83 in the 500 freestyle and added a time of 11:50.43 in the 1,000 freestyle en route to her two second-place times. The Cardinal freshman also added a ninth-place showing in the 200 freestyle, clocking a 2:15.43.
Shefchik and the Cardinals are now off until Dec. 2-3, when they head to Rochester, Minn., for the Rochester Invitational, hosted by St. Cloud State.
