Cave kicked off the season in style last weekend, posting a pair of career efforts in leading the Cardinal men's basketball team to a 1-1 record.
The sophomore poured in a career-best 18 points in Saint Mary's season-opening 76-71 win over Crown last Saturday, then bettered that career performance by two against UW-La Crosse the following day, leading the team with 20 points in a 70-60 loss.
Cave, who missed all of last year due to an injury, finished the week with 38 points (19.0 ppg) and 12 rebounds (6.0 rpg), while also adding seven assists, two blocks and three steals.
The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday, traveling to New Ulm, Minn., for a 3 p.m. nonconference game against Martin Luther.
