Green was his usual dominant self in the Cardinal baseball team's MIAC-opening doubleheader against nationally ranked Saint John's last Sunday.
The Cardinal sophomore tossed a complete-game four-hitter in leading Saint Mary's to a 2-1 win over the Johnnies in the opening game of their two-game series. Green did not allow an extra-base hit, and did not allow more than one hit in an inning — surrendering singles in the first, fourth, sixth, and seventh innings.
Green — the reigning MIAC Rookie of the Year — did not walk a batter and struck out three en route to his first complete game of the season.
Green — who has thrown six innings or more in all three of his starts this season — enters the week owning a 3-0 record and a 2.13 ERA in a team-high 21.2 innings pitched. He has walked just three batters, struck out 32, and opponents are hitting just .148 against him.
