Ryan Wolfe tossed his second consecutive complete-game shutout against St. Thomas last Tuesday, blanking the Tommies on six hits in the Cardinal baseball team's 4-0, eight-inning Game 1 victory.
Wolfe — who tossed a nine-inning, four-hit shutout against UST a year ago and has now thrown 17 stragiht scoreless innings vs. St. Thomas — baffled the Tommies hitters once again last Tuesday. He allowed just six hits — one in the second, one in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth, and one in the seventh — while walking one and striking out four.
Â
Wolfe only allowed four runners to get past first base — and worked out of a one-out, bases-loaded jam in the seventh with a groundball double play.

With Tuesday’s victory, Wolfe improved to 3-1 on the season, while lowering his ERA to 1.93. He has logged a team-high 37.1 innings and has gone five or more innings in each of his six starts — including throwing a season-high eight innings twice.
