Green was unstoppable in his two starts for the Cardinal baseball team last week, tossing a pair of complete-game shutouts in leading the Cardinals to Game 1 wins over Macalester (2-0) and Concordia (1-0).
Green kicked off his week taking the mound for the opening game of their conference doubleheader against Macalester. Green scattered seven hits — all singles — while striking out 11 and walking just one.
Â
Five days later, Green was back on the hill — and was back to his usual, dominant self — shutting out Concordia on just three hits, once again all singles, en route to his sixth collegiate complete game and third career shutout.

With his two wins last week, Green — last year’s MIAC Rookie of the Year — improved to 6-0 and lowered his ERA to 1.59. He has logged 45.1 innings in seven starts and has gone at least six innings in each of his seven starts. With his 11 strikeouts against Macalester, Green has now fanned 10 or more batters twice this season — having fanned a career-high 13 against Concordia-Chicago on March 22.
