It was a stellar home finale for Shefchik, who posted a pair of first-place efforts in the Cardinal women’s swim team’s split in its dual meets against Augsburg and Hamline last Saturday.
Â
Shefchik was unbeatable in the distance freestyle events, winning both the 500 freestyle (5:50.13) and 1000 freestyle (11:57.67), while also swimming part of the Cardinals’ first-place finishing 200 freestyle relay team, which clocked a time of 1:55.12.
Â
Shefchik and the Cardinals are now off until Feb. 14-18, when they head to the U of M Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn., to take part in the four-day, season-ending MIAC Championships.
