Froese scored three goals — including the game-winner less than two minutes into overtime —  in leading the Saint Mary’s men’s hockey team to a 5-4 victory over Gustavus last Tuesday.
 
Froese — whose hat trick is the first by a Cardinal since 2015-16, when Bob Kinne, Jared Johnson, and Jay Heinle all recorded three-goal games — leads the Cardinals with four goals through five games, and is second to Ryan Stoynich for the team lead in points with six.
