Ziakas kicked off her week in winning fashion, posting 34 saves in helping the Cardinals to their first win of the season, a 2-1 victory over Augsburg last Wednesday, before adding a season-high 38-save performance — including 20 saves in the third period alone — in SMU’s 4-1 loss to Augsburg three days later.

Ziakas, who has stopped 30 or more shots in each of the Cardinals’ last three games, owns a 1.66 goals-against-average and .947 save percentage in seven starts this season.
