Hochevar was virtually untouchable in a pair of relief pitching appearances during the Cardinal baseball team’s 2-1 showing last week.
 
The freshman left-hander picked up his first collegiate pitching win, tossing four innings of scoreless, two-hit relief in Saint Mary’s 5-3, Game 1 win over Augsburg last Tuesday, before adding win No. 2 — also in relief — setting down all four Norse he faced in 1 1/3 innings of Saint Mary’s 6-1, come-from-behind win over Luther.
 
For the week, Hochevar went 5 1/3 innings, allowing just two hits, both singles, while striking out nine — including eight against Augsburg — and not walking a batter.
