Chow was dominant both in the batter’s box and inside the pitcher’s circle for the Cardinal fastpitch softball team, leading the Cardinals to a nonconference sweep of Augsburg in their two games last week.
The senior hit .500 in Saint Mary’s two games against the Auggies — going 2-for-3 in the opener and adding another hit in three at-bats in the nightcap. Along with her three hits, Chow also delivered four RBIs, two in each game, while scoring twice and walking twice.
And that was just half the story.
In the pitcher’s circle, Chow thew eight scoreless innings — tossing a perfect seventh inning in Saint Mary’s 10-5 Game 1 win, before throwing a complete-game four-hit shutout in the Cardinals’ 6-0 victory in the nightcap. Chow walked just one batter, while striking out five, and set down 13 straight Auggies in the second game, before surrendering a one-out single in the bottom of the seventh.
For the season, Chow is hitting .350 (7-for-21) with three doubles and seven RBIs, while compiling a 2-4 record and 6.56 ERA in six pitching appearances.
