O’Brien hit .381 in the Cardinal baseball team's five games last week, collecting eight hits — including a double and a triple — in 21 at-bats, while scoring twice and driving in six runs.
The sophomore picked up his first collegiate three-hit game — including a clutch, two-run, walk-off double in the bottom of the 10th inning — in the Cardinals’ 8-7, come-from-behind Game 2 win over Concordia last Saturday, while also posting two-hit games in Game 2 against Saint John’s last Thursday and in Game 1 vs. the Cobbers last Saturday.
O’Brien and the Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday, playing host to Macalester in a conference doubleheader at Max Molock Field. First pitch is slated for 2:30 p.m.
