Sessler faced 24 shots in the Cardinal men’s soccer team’s two games — closing out the week with 19 saves, including a career-high 12-save effort against UW-Eau Claire last Saturday.
Sessler opened his week with a seven-save showing in SMU’s 2-0 loss to St. Scholastica. At the time, the seven saves equaled his career high — a total he has reached three times this season.
That showing, however, paled in comparison to the performance he put on against the Blugolds three days later, when Sessler did his previous career-best five better, stopping 12- of the 15 shots he faced in a 3-2 loss.
Sessler has now stopped 41 of the 52 shots he’s faced in 542:45 minutes of action, while compiling a 1.82 goals-against-average and .788 save percentage.
