Falkman had a hand in three of Saint Mary’s six goals in back-to-back 3-1 wins over St. Olaf and Bethel — and her five-point week did not go unnoticed, as the junior was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Falkman kicked off her offensive week scoring what proved to be the game-winning goal — finding the back of the net in the 52nd minute to give Saint Mary’s a 2-1 lead en route to their 3-1 victory over St. Olaf last Wednesday.
Three days later, Falkman was at it again, opening the scoring with a penalty kick goal and adding an assist on the Cardinals’ third goal of the game in SMU’s 3-1 victory over Bethel.
For the season, Falkman shares the team lead in goals (8) with Jordyn Matthews (Seattle, Wash.), and is second in assists (4) and points (20).
