Paulson was a scoring machine for the Cardinal women’s basketball team in its two games last week, averaging 18.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg.
 
The senior guard kicked off her week scoring 13 points and hauling in five rebounds in the Cardinals’ loss to Gustavus last Wednesday. Paulson shot 40 percent from the field (4-for-10) with three 3-pointers and was 2-for-2 from the free throw line.
 
And as good as she as against the Gusties, she was even better three days later, when she poured in 24 points — equaling her career high — in SMU’s 85-58 win over the Knights. Paulson hit on 9 of 17 field goal attempts, again knocking down three 3-pointers, and was 3-for-3 from the line.
