Frechette was virtually unstoppable in the Cardinal men’s basketball team’s 77-58 win over St. Scholastica last Saturday, scoring a career-high 24 points and capping a week to remember for the Cardinal sophomore.
In the Cardinals’ two games — both victories — Frechette averaged 16.5 ppg, shot 60.9 percent from the field, hit five 3-pointers, and added seven rebounds.
Frechette kicked off his week going 4 of 7 from the feld with a 3-pointer for nine points in SMU’s 69-58 win over Hamline last Wednesday, before erupting for a career-best 24 points on 10 of 16 shooting — including a 4-for-7 effort from behind the 3-point line — in lifting the Cardinals to a 77-58 victory over St. Scholastica.
For the season, Frechette is averaging 9.6 ppg, going 64 of 139 from the field, with 21 3-points and has hauled in 57 rebounds.
