Just a week after pouring in a school record-tying 32 points — including the 1,000th point in her illustrious women’s basketball career — Paulson continued to haunt Cardinal opponents in the team’s three games last week.
Paulson averaged 22.3 points and 7.0 rebounds in leading the Cardinals to wins over Concordia and St. Olaf, and an eight-point loss to league-leading Augsburg.
Paulson kicked off her week with a dominating 25-point, 11-rebound performance in SMU’s 66-57 road win over St. Olaf last Monday. The senior sharp-shooter followed that up by netting a team-best 19 points and adding five rebounds in the Cardinals’ 64-56 loss to Augsburg two days later.
And in her finale for the week, Paulson once again summited the 20-point mountain, scoring 23 points — including seven of the team’s school-record 15 3-pointers — and collecting five boards as Saint Mary’s rolled to a 71-54 victory over the Cobbers.
For the week, Paulson finished 23-for-53 (43.4 percent) with 17 3-pointers and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line en route to her 22.3 ppg scoring average. She also finished with 21 rebounds (7.0 rpg) with seven assists and two blocks.
