Hochevar turned in a gem of a pitching performance in guiding the Cardinal baseball team to a 3-2 victory in the opening game of their nonconference doubleheader sweep of Wheaton last Monday.
 
The sophomore left-hander went the first six innings of the seven-inning contest, allowing two runs on five hits, while walking one and matching his single-game career-high with eight strikeouts.
