Cave batted .400 and boasted a .600 slugging percentage and .467 on-base percentage in leading the Saint Mary’s University fastpitch softball team to a 4-4 record last week — including conference doubleheader splits against St. Scholastica and Gustavus, a sweep of Augsburg, and a pair of losses to league-leading Bethel.

Cave kicked off her week going 1-for-5 against high-powered Bethel last Tuesday, before delivering a 5-for-7 performance with six RBIs in the Cardinals’ split against St. Scholastica two days later. Cave added a hit in seven at-bats with a pair of RBIs and a run scored in SMU’s sweep of Augsburg on Saturday, and closed out the week by picking up three hits in six at-ats in SMU’s split against Gustavus the following afternoon — including a 1-for-3, three-run error in the Cardinals’ 11-9 Game 2 win.

For the week, Cave hit .400, going 10-for-25 with a pair of doubles, one home run, seven runs scored and eight RBIs, while also adding three walks.
