Coyle led the offensive charge for the Saint Mary’s baseball team in its four games last week, hitting .500 in helping Saint Mary’s to a conference sweep of Hamline and a nonconference split against UW-Eau Claire.
The sophomore picked up eight hits in 16 at-bats, including three doubles, while scoring five times and driving in 11 runs. Coyle also had three hits in four at-bats in SMU’s Sunday game against Carleton, which was halted in the sixth inning due to rain.
Coyle picked up at least one hit in all four games for the Cardinals last week — including three games with at least two hits. Coyle posted a three-hit, five-RBI performance against Hamline last Tuesday, and had two hits in the opener against Hamline and the nightcap against UW-Eau Claire.
