Kruse hit a team-best .625 in five games last week, including a 2-for-3, two-run effort in SMU's streak-snapping 6-3 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory in Game 2 vs. Bethel Saturday. Kruse, who also drove in three runs and scored twice last week, collected two hits in each of the five games he played in, going 2-for-3 in Game 2 vs. Luther last Monday, followed by 2-for-3 and 2-for-4 showings vs. Saint John's and back-to-back 2-for-3 outings vs. Bethel.
For the season, Kruse is hitting .347 with a team-leading eight extra-base hits — including three triples — and has driven in 11 runs.
