Game Summary

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The scoring drought continued for the Saint Mary's University women's soccer team Wednesday afternoon.

The Cardinals (1-3-1), looking for their first goal since midway through their season-opener against Viterbo on Sept. 2, were shut out for the fourth straight time Wednesday as UW-Eau Claire used a goal five minutes into the second half to beat the Cardinals 1-0.

The Cardinals' offense continued to struggle to generate any offense, managing just three shots on UW-Eau Claire goalkeeper Erin Leschensky. SMU goalie Colleen O'Hearn (Champlin, Minn.), meanwhile, was plenty busy as the Blugolds peppered the Cardinal senior with 21 shots, including 12 in a scoreless first half.

UW-Eau Claire's Megan Oswall finally got one past O'Hearn at the 51:39 mark, taking a feed from Erika Peterson and drilling a shot from 18 yards out that slipped just under the cross bar.
