ST. PAUL, Minn. — Dwyne Smith (Burnsville, Minn.) posted a fifth-place finish in the 200, and Ethan Lane (Winona, Minn.) added a pair of sixth-place showings to lead the Saint Mary's University men's track and field team at the Macalester Invitational Wednesday afternoon.
Smith clocked a time of 23.7 en route to his fifth-place showing in the 200, while Lane added sixths in the 400 (53.27) and the long jump (18-2 1/4), and chipped in a 10th-place effort in the 200 with a time of 24.1.
Jim Baertsch (Winona, Minn.) added a seventh in the 800 (2:05.57), while Keith Pieschek (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) was 10th in the same event in a time of 2:06.85. Chris Beach (Maple Grove, Minn.), meanwhile, was 10th in the 110 high hurdles (23.45), 11th in the 400 hurdles (65.24) and 13th in the high-jump (5-7 / 34).
