ST. PETER, Minn. — The weather was miserable, but no matter what Mother Nature threw at them — wind, rain, freezing temperatures — it couldn't slow the Saint Mary's University track and field teams.
Amber Liss (Onalaska, Wis.) grabbed SMU's lone first-place finish, winning the 800 with a time of 2:24.88, while Melissa Redig (Wells, Minn.), Jenny Folgers (McHenry, Ill.) and Keri Drake (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) all chipped in second-place efforts. Redig placed second in the high jump, clearing 1.50 meters, while Folgers' second came in the 100 hurdles (16.12) and Drake's came in the 3,000 steeplechase (13:24.10).
Ashley Dingels (Gibbon, Minn.) pitched in a third-place time of 13.58 in the 100, while Theresa Miller (New Berlin, Wis.) was third in the 5,000 (19:50.62) and Colleen Bourque (Waukesha, Wis.) was fourth in the steeplechase (14:28.7).
On the men's side, Dwyne Smith (Burnsville, Minn.) raced to a second-place finish in the 200 (24.34), while also adding a fifth in the 100 (12.12).
