COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team (13-8) wrapped up their season today—and did so in winning fashion! The Cardinals closed out the year with a 6-3 victory over the Saint Benedict Bennies (5-8).
The Cardinals kicked off the afternoon by winning two of the three doubles matches, setting the tone for the day.
Four of the six singles matches extended into extra games or sets.
Alli Laux secured her final victory as a Cardinal in a super tiebreaker at No. 1 singles, winning 6-1, 6-4, 10-7.
At No. 2 singles,
Elena Ruzevich earned a final victory in a super tiebreaker, winning 6-1, 1-6, 10-1.
Both Emily's secured victories in extended games.
In her final match,
Emily Henderson won in a tiebreaker, finishing 7-6, 6-3.
Emily Dondelinger, in another super tiebreaker, secured a 6-0, 2-6, 10-7 victory to seal the team's final win of the season.
The Cardinals finished eighth in the conference, improving one spot from last year with a 3-7 conference record.
