WINONA, Minn. - Now that our fall student-athletes have arrived on campus, game time is just around the corner! The 2025 Saint Mary's volleyball team has been working hard since day one, and are excited to hit the court and get the season underway.

"I'm really excited for this season," said Head Volleyball coach Amber Zitzow, who is entering her fourth season at the helm. "We have the majority of our team returning, with more veterans on the court, and that experience is going to make a difference."

The Cardinals will kick off their 2025 season on the road at Ripon College during the opening weekend of competition. They'll then return to Winona for the annual Sugar Loaf Classic, presented by Toppers, which features seven teams. 

Saint Mary's will play three games during the tournament, beginning with a Friday night matchup on September 5th at 7:00 p.m., followed by two more games on Saturday, September 6th at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the David R. Theis Arena.

Following an extended stretch of road games, the Cardinals will return home to host conference opponent Concordia College on Tuesday, October 7 at 6:00 p.m.

"We're excited about the group we have this year. Kali Olson is coming back as an all-conference player, Brenna Bruchert, and Paige Klug, who is back to full health which will be a big boost, will be fun to watch."

The Cardinals will play their final home game on November 1, hosting Bethel at 7:00 p.m. The night will also feature their Senior Night celebration, leading into the MIAC Volleyball Tournament, which begins on November 11.

It's shaping up to be an exciting year for the team as they look forward to playing in the brand-new arena with the support of the community. 

With some special additions to the roster, it promises to be another great season of Cardinal volleyball.
