Nick Whaley is the head baseball coach and director of physical education at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. In addition to his coaching and teaching duties within athletics Whaley is an adjunct staff member in the education department. During his tenure at Saint Mary’s Whaley spent two years as a Campus Minister and as the Director of Men’s Programming.

In 2001 and 2002, Whaley’s teams made consecutive appearances in the MIAC Tournament and in 2001 Whaley was named MIAC Coach of the Year. Prior to coming to Saint Mary’s, Whaley spent five seasons as the head baseball coach at Henry Sibley High School. During that time his teams compiled a record of 73 wins against 27 losses and a Class AA State Championship in 1994.

Whaley completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of St. Thomas. Whaley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Education, with minors in Theology and Coaching. His Master's of Arts is in Athletic Administration/Physical Education. Whaley is also an ASEP/NFHS Certified Classroom Instructor.
