As the time comes to say goodbye to this great game of hockey, I must take the time to thank all the people who have helped me in so many ways in getting to this point. It is surreal to think that I am here today writing my Senior Salute. Four short years ago I was just arriving at Saint Mary’s and now after many great experiences and memories I will be leaving this institution. For as many years as I can remember playing hockey has been a huge part of my life and has contributed to the person who I am today. Playing hockey for Saint Mary’s has been such a positive and rewarding experience. I am now able to look back on those memories and think about how great I had it. So many people have helped me to achieve and live these experiences. From family and friends, to fellow students, these past for years have been a journey which I will always cherish and never forget.

First and foremost, I want to thank my parents, Craig and Lynn. Dad, you have always been such a positive role model for me throughout my hockey career and life. It is hard for me to think of a time when you missed a game, excluding travels. You have been there for me throughout this crazy ride. Mom, you have always been there after a big win or a tough loss with a smile and open arms. I am often reminded of you driving me and friends to summer hockey camps with a smelly car full of hockey bags and players. From 6 a.m. practices to out of town tournaments, you were always making sure I was there with a supportive heart. Mom and Dad, I can say without your support and life-long lessons I would not be where I am today, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Megan, over the past few years you have grown to become one of my biggest supporters. From sick car rides to games, to leaving dance practice early to come to my games, your support is greatly appreciated. As my hockey career is coming to an end, I will now be able to return that support in attending dance recitals. I also want to thank the grandparents for their support and love.

I would like to thank the coaching staff here at Saint Mary’s. You have given me an opportunity to put on that Cardinal sweater. With sub-par talent, you have always believed in me and for that I am very grateful. Coach Olson, you have taught me about work ethic and what it means to belong to a team. Coach Hoffman, your competitive drive has challenged me and pushed me to another level. Coach Reszka, you have given me a chance to step on that ice with intensity and drive so thank you. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Coach Farren, who left us suddenly during the season. He will not be forgotten for everything that he has done.

To my friends here at Saint Mary’s, I would like to thank you for your continued support. Andy, David, Derrick, and Billy, I want to thank you for putting up with me for two years and for your support as well. To my fellow seniors, Adam, Dan, Kevin, Jesse, and David, together we have been through the best of times and the worst of times, but the memories sustained along the way are some I will always hold on to. I want to wish the five of you the best along your continued journeys. To Saint Mary’s hockey players past and present, I want to thank you for sharing the past four years with me and making it a positive experience. Cherish your time left here because before you know it you will be writing your own senior salutes as well.

In conclusion, I can not put into words the support, love, and memories I have received along this ride. It has been a pleasure to share it all with you. Putting on that Cardinal sweater Friday and Saturday nights is something that I will greatly miss. Thank you to all.
