Looking back over the past two years I have spent playing softball at Saint Mary’s University, I would have to say that I am proud to be a part of the softball program and I am honored to have been welcomed into such a great team. My time here with the Saint Mary’s softball program has been an experience that I will never forget and has provided me with such great memories that I will take with me forever.
I want to first thank my mother and father, Paul and Evonne, who have above all been my greatest supporters and who have never faltered in reminding me how very proud they are of all that I have accomplished. Thank you, dad, for all the long hours pitching in the gym and for all the softball camps you took me to. Thank you, mom, for always being there for me, through all the games you have always been there to cheer me on. You have both been here with me through it all, through the tears, laughter, anger and joy, without you I would not be the person that I am today.
I would also like to thank Bob Hathaway, who has been my pitching coach since the third grade. Thank you for all that you have taught me. Next, I would like to thank the coaches who have guided me through theses past two years with great deal of humor and patience.
Words can not express the amount of respect and appreciation that I have for my teammates. The time that I have spent with my teammates has given me some of the greatest memories of my college career. Maddy, you have been an awesome friend and teammate your humor and support has made this season so enjoyable (full of jubilation, you know go balls deep bulldogs). You’re an awesome pitcher and I look forward to watching you in the upcoming seasons, no matter how many batters you hit. Angie, over the past two years you have been amazing, a friend who I know I can always confide in and someone who has always kept me on track, thank you for all that you have done. Hanna, Jenna, Grobe, Mc Graw, and Herbie, your humor on and off the field has made these past two seasons a blast, not a single practice has gone by that hasn’t been filled with laughter and stupid jokes. Thank you, Otte, for being such an awesome captain, you have been great leader and an amazing teammate and friend.
To all the first-years — Jill, Katie, Sharpe, Mal, Kelly, Steph, Laura, and Amy — thanks for making this past year so much fun, enjoy your time here, it goes by so fast. Mal, I look forward to watching you pitch in the upcoming years, you have done an awesome job and I know you will continue to be a powerhouse on the mound. Pulve, thanks for being such an awesome friend and a great catcher. Thank you for all your hard work and all the help and support that you have given me these past two years. Thank you, E and Bood, for being such dedicated teammates.
To my fellow seniors — Thesing and Jenny “G” — its been great, I wish you both all the best of luck, I know that both of you will excel in all that you do in life. G, thank you for all that you have done this year you have been an awesome catcher and you have been an amazing leader on the field. Even though you’re loud and from Chicago it hasn’t prevented me from enjoying the friendship that we have had these past two years.
Its hard to believe that something that has been apart of me for so long is all too soon coming to an end. However I can’t imagine it ending any other way, again thank you to everyone who has always been there for me
Last but not least, I would like to give a shout out to and big thanks to Toni Winter for being such a great boss and supporter, and thanks for not telling coach about all the times that I have been late, and to Bob Biebel, thanks for the great debates — you have always been wrong, but that’s OK, most Republicans are.
