Mate was the Cardinals' offensive leader in their two matches last week, as the Cardinal junior banged home a season-high 19 kills in SMU's 3-2 victory over 16th-ranked Saint Benedict last Thursday, then equaled that feat with 19 more kills in a 3-2 loss to 19th-ranked Concordia on Saturday. In SMU's two matches, Mate hit .434 with six digs and five blocks.
