Buerkle hit a team-best .500 in the Cardinal baseball team's four games last week, as the freshman outfielder went 7-for-14 with a double, two RBIs, a .571 slugging percentage and a .533 on-base percentage.

Buerkle collected his first four-hit game with a 4-for-5 showing in Game 1 against Gustavus last Saturday. The effort extended his hitting streak to 20 games, but an 0-for-2, one walk showing in Game 2 ended the consecutive-game hit streak one game short of the school record.
