Will Matthews (Geneva, Ill.) has been a nightmare of opposing pitchers all season — and last week was no exception for the Saint Mary’s University senior.
 
Matthews hit .545 and boasted a slugging percentage of .909 in leading the Cardinals to wins in each of their three games last week.
 
Matthews kicked off his week going 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI in SMU’s 11-0 win over St. Olaf on Monday. And Matthews was just getting warmed up, adding 2-for-4 and 3-for-4 efforts in leading SMU to a 9-4, 8-1 sweep of Hamline three days later.
 
All told, Matthews finished the week 6-for-11 with four doubles, four runs scored and four RBIs, while also walking twice and delivering a sacrifice fly.
