In 2007, Halberg's women's tennis team landed the first two All-MIAC performers in the program's history. In 2005 and 2006, Halberg boasted a pair of All-MIAC men's players, and in 2005 also coached the conference's Arthur Ashe Award winner (Mark Leeder). In 2004, Halberg led the SMU women's team to its most wins ever (12), while the SMU men landed their first All-MIAC performer at No. 1 singles since the 1980 season. Halberg has been a head teaching professional (USPTA P1 Certified) for the past nine years, and has spent the past seven years as a head coach at either the intercollegiate or high school level, brings a wealth of tennis experience and success from all levels of the game. At the junior level, he has coached USTA nationally ranked players (both boys and girls) and state high school champions (singles, doubles and team), while at the collegiate level he has led his teams to conference or regional success on numerous occasions.
