ST. PETER, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University swimming and diving teams were no match for MIAC power Gustavus Saturday afternoon, as the Gusties rolled dual-meet wins.
The Gustavus men's team beat SMU 160-119, while the Gusties' women's team rolled to a 168-123 win.
Kyle Van Lith (Appleton, Wis.) led the Cardinal men, placing second in both the 100 freestyle (53:03) and the 200 freestyle (1:57.52), while
Ben Chastek (St. Paul, Minn.) chipped in second-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.77) and the 200 breaststroke (2:26.37).
On the women's side, Katie Krebsbach (Mendota Heights, Minn.) placed second in the 200 IM (2:30.12), while Jennifer Phillips (Red Wing, Minn .) added a third in the 200 breaststroke (2:47.79).
The Cardinals return to action Dec. 2, playing host to several teams in the SMU Invitational.
